Summer is coming to a close now, so before we bid it a last farewell and welcome the approach of autumn, it is with great pleasure that we announce the publication of our final summer releases.

First up, the second volume of Cate’s Aslan in Our World: A Guide to the Chronicles of Narnia is now available: this one is the study guide for Prince Caspian, which happens to be my favorite of the Narnian Chronicles, so I really enjoyed the process of editing the book and helping prepare it for publication. (I’m Alexandra, by the way, the one sitting on the left in that picture up there. I do most of the writing for this website—with the exception of Cate’s Once Upon a Time serial, of course.) Work on the guide to The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is already underway, and it will be published before Christmas.

And, just in time for the back-to-school grind, Don’s second Freestyle Five adventure, The Searchlight, is out. At the beginning of the book, Jenny is bemoaning the end of the girls’ thrilling summer (as narrated in The Freestyle Five of the Fairview Ice Arena) and the now-inevitable return to the classroom, to her more or less sympathetic friends:

     “By the way, girls, I have some bad news.”

     “Really?” Emmadale said. It would be unfair to say that she was excited, but she wasn’t disappointed, either.

     “This coming weekend is Labor Day weekend,” Jenny said.

     “And your point is?” Hannah asked.

     “It’s Monday,” Jenny said.

     “And that means?” Jeanette said helpfully.

     “It means we only have about a week left until school starts,” Jenny explained.

     “That’s depressing,” said a voice from across the room. Alice Van Hoorn, the final member of the set, came hurrying in.

However, back to school for our ice skating detectives certainly does not mean stale routines or hum-drum days, as their autumn is enlivened by a string of robberies, mysterious lights, a frantic car chase, and two midnight intruders (one of whom Jenny, to her everlasting credit, wrestles right off his feet). And although your return to school may not bring such adventures, sneaking a few minutes in between homework assignments to read a chapter of The Searchlight will at least bring some moments of laughter and excitement to your evening!
